Trump Tower Causes Concern – What Does This Mean for You?

This week, policed closed down the blocks around the Trump International Hotel and Tower Toronto. Needless to say, this has caused problems for those in and going through Toronto’s financial district and Bay Street. The problem? The antenna atop the Trump Tower seems to be unstable and will possibly fall atop unaware drivers and pedestrians.

As someone in the “installation” business, I see this as a simple problem of poor planning. Anything properly installed should not cause a concern. This is why ensuring that you work with the correct contractor and laborers is worth the premium you pay for doing so.

One immediate parallel in my line of business is the boiler. Both new houses and older houses use boilers for heat. However, some these houses - especially older houses - had their boilers improperly installed – sometimes to the effect of witnessing the boilers explode years or decades later! I always recommend you perform yearly boiler inspections to see whether you need an upgrade or should switch to a more modern heating system.

After all, you wouldn’t want a Trump Tower 2.0 experience in your own home.
